Are mopeds and scooters street legal?
Yes, generally they are legal. By most standards they will fall under the classification of bicycles. In certain areas they fall under a sub category of motorcycles. But given their speed and power, in almost all cases, they do not require a license to drive.

If you follow basic bicycle laws of your region, wear a helmet, do not ride your moped or scooter on the sidewalk, and be visible to pedestrian and vehicular traffic during your ride, then you should be OK. However, regional or city legislation may have regulations that specifically apply to your moped or scooter.

It is your responsibility to know the regulations of your area prior to your purchase.  We suggest that you contact your local law enforcement agency and your state's Department of Motor Vehicles for the most up to date and accurate information. Since laws vary from state to state, you are solely responsible for determining the legality of your moped or scooter in your state. We will not issue any refunds based on claims of unsatisfactory legal status.

What is a 4 Stroke Engine?
A 4-stroke engine has one power stroke for every two revolutions, and is fueled by gas. The industry started building their mopeds and scooters with 4-stroke engines because the 2-stroke engine didn't comply with the high emission standards in the U.S.A.

What is a 2 Stroke Engine?
A 2-stroke engine is characterized by the fact that it has one power stroke for every revolution, or cycle. 2-stroke engines have a high power-to-weight ratio, which makes them good for lawnmowers and scooters - maximum power with minimum weight. Their downside is that they run on a mixture of gas and oil, which may product visible exhaust.

What is the difference between chain-driven and belt-driven transmission?
Chain-driven transmission is more rugged than traditional belt-driven transmission, so it can handle all terrain moped and scooter riding.

Do I need to mix my own oil and gas to fuel the gas scooters?
If you purchase a gas scooter with a 2-stroke engine, you will need to mix unleaded gasoline and two cycle oil in the specified ratio for all of our 2-stroke engine products. The scooter will include an easy to use mixing bottle. The owners manual will state the mixing ratio which is usually 32:1.

What kind of maintenance do these gas-powered scooters require?
Some basic maintenance is required. If riding regularly, it's a good idea to check all the bolts in the scooter every couple weeks (you can use the wrench provided in the toolkit if adjusting is needed). You can also use lock tite on all of the nuts and bolts to prevent them from loosening. It's also a good idea to put some chain oil on the chain about once a month. Also, remember to always put the correct amount of 2-stroke oil in with the gas. Remember to review your owner's manual and follow all recommended maintenance.
